The Vanishing Zoo: Full Digital Previsualization for a Multi-Zone Immersive Exhibition

Large-scale immersive exhibitions involve complex coordination between creative design, projection systems, and on-site installation. Before equipment enters the venue, production teams need confidence that every projection position, light path, and visual effect will perform as intended.

The Vanishing Zoo, a science and technology exhibition in Suzhou, Jiangsu, explores billions of years of life on Earth across four immersive exhibition zones. For this project, hecoos and Hirender worked together across the production workflow, with hecoos supporting digital previsualization and Hirender managing on-site execution.

Building the Exhibition in a Digital Environment Before Installation

In a multi-zone immersive space, errors discovered during installation can lead to significant adjustments in time, equipment positioning, and content preparation. The previsualization stage helps production teams identify potential issues before physical deployment begins.

hecoos was used to create a complete digital replica of the exhibition environment, allowing the team to simulate projection positions, brightness distribution, and light paths across the venue. Through data-driven visualization, the production team could evaluate the feasibility of the projection design before equipment installation.

Connecting Creative Design with On-Site Execution

Beyond spatial simulation, hecoos enabled keyframe animation sequencing and real-time effect previews, allowing the team to review visual effects and content behavior within the virtual environment.

By validating projection design digitally before moving into physical installation, the workflow reduced uncertainty during commissioning and helped ensure a smoother transition from concept to execution.
